Large panoramic Glacier (Rhone Glacier, Date 6.2007). Loaction 1.
Tongue of the Rhone glacier. The glacier retreated behind a rock bar. A glacial lake (so-called fjord lake) is formed between the glacier and the rock bar. The outflow of the lake is the source of the Rhone. With a beautiful glacier polish. If the glacier were to retreat further, the lake could create a natural hazard.
